Continuous Glucose Monitors

Continuous Glucose Monitors

Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGMs) can be used in healthy, non-diabetic individuals to establish normative glucose data. The patient can learn how their body reacts to the foods they eat, stress, exercise and other activities. CGMs can provide valuable insights into normal glucose fluctuations throughout the day and help in understanding how various factors like diet, exercise, and stress affect blood glucose levels in healthy individuals1.

There are many companies that manufacture continuous glucose monitors. Abbott now has its own consumer program that can be found here: The Glucose Monitoring Biosensor – Lingo (hellolingo.com) A recent SKY editorial shows how it has been used in a ‘healthy’ population – Blood sugar monitors are ‘life savers’ for diabetics – but can they help everyone else too? | UK News | Sky News. However other CGMs are available and other consumer focused programs are also available such as Veri or Levels.
